Environmental management, Natural Resources Rights, Climate Change and Sustainable Energy

Liberia is a country endowed with many natural resources which could transform the lives of communities and contribute to jobs and improvement in public social services. As society grows, the demand for energy increases and becomes more principally linked not just to production through industrialization but also to public social services such as education and health. Most of rural counties of Liberia are not electrified as they are far from the national grid. However, places such as Lofa, Grand Kru, Gbarpolu and Rivercess have potential to be economic hubs through agriculture and other lines of production.

To holistically address issues around managemet of natural resources, LIFE focuses on three objectives namely;

  1. Waste management and urban recycling

  2. Women’s leadership in natural resources management and governance

  3. Climate change education for schools
